Keep in mind that you won't "blow" anything: circuit breakers are intended to operate either to prevent a fault, or to limit the current being drawn. If the breaker trips, it is for one of these reasons, and for your protection or to limit the park's electricity bill!
The current drawn by your stove is what is important. If it exceeds 20A in total (20A x 230V = 4,6kW), you will probably trip the supply breaker at any caravan park, assuming that the supply voltage is 230V. The current drawn by your appliance is dependent on the available voltage: if you have only 200V and not 230V, your current will increase proportionately to provide the required power. So your 2kW kettle which draws 8,7A at 230V will draw 10A at 200V etc. I would assume that your stove is capable of drawing more than 20A if two or more plates are on, and this will probably give rise to recurrent tripping. Either use a single plate (or two if you can get away with it).
You might have a problem in some camps. We camped at places where you can't even boil your electric kettle, and the electricity trips. We use the Snappy Chef induction plates on camping sites because they are quick and uses very little electricity.

Daan Karavaan Yep I have earlier eluded to the fact that some sites may have inadequate electrical power distribution networks. Campers should point problems out to the managements of those establishments, Thanks Rachel for your79 days ago
Hi, its Daan Karavaan, according to Geert Jurgens of Travelstar (they are Fendt agents) you should have a gas hob in your Saphir but by the sounds of it you have installed an electric stove, am I right? If it is so you need not fear, reputable camp sites have electrical circuits that have been installed by certified elctricians so they should take the load of a normal domestic 220 V stove. Off course I can not speak for dodgy sites with inferior/illegal electricity points and dubious circuit breakers. But I am curious so please let me know if you are carting a domestic stove with you in your van. Kind regards, Daan Karavaan

My wife and I are retired and we are purchasing a Fendt Saphir Caravan. We intend to tour South Africa for around three years. We have a Fuchware stove with 3x cooking plates. Some people have told us that if we use it, we will blow the power on our site, others have said there is no problem!! Now we do not know what to think. Can any experienced caravaners tell us what is the situation. We will certainly appreciate hearing from you all. Many thanks Len Webber.
