The first shipment of Hymer motorhomes arrived at Port Elizabeth harbour on Thursday night December 1st 2011.

There are two models - the smaller model is the Hymer Silverline Exsis-i and is based on the Ford Transit chassis. It has a 2.2 diesel engine with manual six-speed gearbox, it weighs 2970 kg and sleeps four people.

The larger unit is the Hymer Starline B690. It is the top of the range model based on a Mercedes Benz chassis with V6 diesel engine and automatic transmission. It has a weight of 4125 kg and sleeps four people.

The interiors of these motorhomes feature a high degree of luxury from electrically operated door steps to flat screen TVs, central heating and air conditioning, hot and cold water, electric flush toilets, domestic type bed mattresses… .
