  • Hi Bobby, thanks for joining our forum, hope you post a lot. Are you, or do you know any full timers ? My avatar pic is of my second permanent caravan, a Belvedere. You might want to use something similar for yours, if you don't want to stay one of the five shadows we have as members ! How about using the like button guys ?

  • I've just read some really depressing posts about caravanning not being for everyone anymore because of the high cost. I was hoping it would be do-able but maybe not. I've heard that parks have reduced rates if you stay for a month or two or three. Any info regarding this would be welcome.

  • Full Timing to me is not having to return to a base you call home. This might mean for some people, staying in one park for several months, at reduced permanent rates, so as to afford the higher daily rates when they move on again. Many would love to stay in Durban during Winter but in the Garden Route for summer. Full Timing makes this possible !

Helen I'm sure there are places to go during high season. We went to Swellendam a few years ago at Christmas and there was plenty of space and quite a few full timers. Perhaps I've been lucky, but I haven't often been to places that are crowded.76 days ago

One of our queiries is if it is worthwile using one of those reflective sheets on the caravan tent , does it damage the surface of van and tent?

Whether you are living in a Caravan or Motorhome, on a permanent site or moving around, we would like to hear from you. Tell us why you prefer living in the confined space, instead of the normal brick house, and tell us how your inventions makes life easier for you. Afrikaans welkom !
There are no announcements yet.
@ stalker. interesting to notice that even though there is a continuous rise in petrol price, i seem to see an ever increasing number of caravans and cars on the road. good for us :). @group founder. i think elderly people in caravans are not the greatest idea, this is because of the climb into the caravan, and lack of walking support through out the caravans that i have seen. maybe im thinking like over 70 or 80 though. ofcourse i can only assume, as im not even near those numbers myself. however i like caravanning for the spirit of adventure, and to see the most of what this great world has to offer despite rising prices in our everyday South African life. If being 70/80 means becoming the Die Hard of adventure, then i can only aspire to my camping elders. i only have a few years of fond memories since i have started caravanning and camping, though i hope to have many many more. and who knows, maybe someday ill be able to end up in a retirement caravan park. though the people and view is what will keep me there :). did you guys enter the win a caravan competition on the homepage yet?

Stalker Like anything else you buy, you need to get all the details and ensure your investment is safe. Our stands are shares in a registered business. We can rent out our stand, add it to our will or do with our share what ever we like. If you need more information, please send me a message and I will gladly assist.
