Caravans in the Jurgens range have always been sought after by discerning South African buyers because of their styling and features, which set them apart from the other Jurgens Ci brands. We came across this seven-year-old Jurgens Fleetline beauty at Campworld Nelspruit, and it’s just waiting for a loving new home.
Back in 2005, the Fleetline was the smallest of the Jurgens range, which also included the Penta, Palma, Classique and flagship Exclusive. (There was no new Expo that year.) But small doesn’t necessarily mean ineffective.
2005 Jurgens Fleetline

With a body length of 5990 mm and a GVM of 1190 kg, it’s mid-sized, comfortably sleeping four people in two double beds: one permanent island bed, positioned diagonally at the back of the van, and the other at the front, converted from the dinette. The pop-up roof means that, when configured for towing with the roof down, the caravan is more aerodynamic, which is better for fuel economy. This specific pre-owned unit has a split-unit 220 V aircon, so those summer nights at Twee Rivieren in the Kgalagadi will be pleasantly cool. Overall it’s in immaculate condition, having had only two previous owners.

It also comes with a full modular tent, rally awning, groundsheet, double-door 215-litre 220 V fridge-freezer, gas stove, gas bottle and microwave mounted at eye level. The kitchen sink has hot and cold water, so dishwashing during your trip won’t be a big concern, and the caravan comes with its own full set of crockery. Light and airy inside, this model probably feels more spacious than it is, but it’s still ideal for a family of four. The cupboards, wardrobes and hatches surrounding the interior will swallow up all your clothing, food and gear, and there’s a cavernous storage area under the bed for storing the tent.

The spare wheel is stowed safely away in the nose cone. In spite of its age, this caravan is still as neat as new, and will certainly be an asset to any family’s caravaning plans.
